NATURE OF BLESSLAND AND MICRONATIONALISM
The Empire of Blessland is a micronation founded by His Imperial Majesty, Dr. Girish Mittal, Emperor and Autocrat on 19 April 2019.
Blessland currently claims sovereignty over the eight States that make up the Empire of Blessland.
As of 26 August 2021 the Citizen Population of the Empire of Blessland is 81 with 8 Citizens forming the Blesslandian Peerage.
What is a Micronation?
- Micronations are a “new country project” and should not be confused with cults, anti-government groups, terrorist organizations, or threats to national security.
- Almost all micronations have a structure that is similar to an established sovereign state, and tend to include: territorial claims, government institutions, official symbols and citizens.
- Micronations are often quite small, in both their claimed territory and claimed populations and may also issue formal instruments such as postage stamps, coins, banknotes and passports, and bestow honours and titles of nobility.
Blessland’s Primary Goal as a Micronation:
Blessland is classified as a secessionist micronation – meaning we seek recognised independence and claim the right to self-determination and statehood under the Montevideo Convention on the Rights and Duties of States. Under customary international law as laid out in the Convention, Blessland is an independent country, our next step is recognised independence from the wider international community.
Blessland’s Reason for Existing as a Micronation:
Our Motto is: For Absolutism and Social Progression. Our National Political and Ethical Morals and Guiding Ideas.
In Absolutism: We have designed a highly centralised autocratic monarchy, revolving around the Emperor and Autocrat’s exercise of executive and legislative authority as per the Constitution. Recent developments have also seen the creation of an elected/appointed Imperial Senate, which is an elected advisory body to the Emperor and Autocrat. We believe that through readily available advice, the Emperor and Autocrat can introduce effective legislative action to meet the needs of the Nation, and not be bound by the division and slowness of traditional democracy.
In Social Progression: We have set down in the Constitution, our Bill of Rights: The most advanced of any Nation on Earth. At its core is the 17 Basic Human Rights we recognise. We expanded on those Basic Rights by introducing: ‘Rights Derived from the United Nations Charter on Human Rights’, ‘LGBTIQ+ Specific Rights’, ‘Women’s Equality Rights’ and ‘Privacy and The Internet’.
Through our Facebook Page and Discord Server our Citizens are connected to one another, through these methods we are building our connectivity, communication and society. This helps to strengthen our foundations as a Nation and prepares us for the future.

Acknowledgement of Indigenous Country
The Empire of Blessland recognises and acknowledges the ancestors of the Kaurana, Wathaurong and Yuggara people. We recognise their ancestors were the original occupants of this land and that their current descendants are its’ traditional custodians. The Empire of Blessland acknowledges and pays respect to their People and Elders, past and present and promises to respect their culture, languages and heritage.
We don’t mean to detract from the meaning in which we make this Acknowledgement by putting it in the Footer. We put it in the Footer to reiterate our Acknowledgement on every page, versus only being mentioned on the Front Page once.
